Badria Mekkawy

Clinical Informatics Lead

Badria Mekkawy is Clinical Informatics Lead at ZONE and a nurse leader with twenty-five years of experience across Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Bahrain. She holds a PhD in hospital management and health economics, with a thesis examining the role of digital transformation in improving the quality of healthcare services, and a master of science in nursing. Before moving into clinical informatics she served as a chief nursing officer, with extensive experience in hospital commissioning, and as corporate chief nursing officer for a multi-facility hospital network in Egypt, where she led clinical governance and corporate nursing strategy. She is a recognised American Heart Association Training Center faculty member and coordinator, and is a frequent speaker on stroke management and healthcare quality improvement. Her work joins bedside nursing practice, corporate clinical governance and the digital systems that support both.
