Ahmad Qureshi is a consultant in physical medicine and rehabilitation practising in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also called rehabilitation medicine, is the clinical specialty concerned with restoring function and quality of life for people disabled by injury or disease, among them stroke, spinal cord and brain injury, amputation, musculoskeletal pain and neuromuscular disorders. Consultants in the specialty assess functional capacity, prescribe and supervise rehabilitation programmes, manage spasticity and chronic pain, guide prosthetic and assistive technology prescription, and lead multidisciplinary teams drawing on physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, rehabilitation nursing, psychology and social work.
