Tarek Al-Shehri

Executive Director of Facilities and Urban Development

Engineer Tarek Al-Shehri serves as Executive Director of Facilities and Urban Development at the Saudi Water Authority, with more than ten years of executive experience leading infrastructure projects, facility management, urban development and the delivery of strategic projects within the Kingdom's water sector. Over his career he has led national project portfolios worth more than 52 billion riyals, with a strong record in strategy development, operational efficiency, project governance, asset management and sustainable results aligned with the targets of Saudi Vision 2030. He is among the leaders who bring together engineering and executive management, having contributed to advanced models for facility management and urban development with a focus on humanising cities and industrial facilities by providing higher-quality, more sustainable working environments and communities, strengthening the user experience and improving quality of life within cities and residential and industrial complexes. He served as General Manager of Humanisation and Urban Development at the Saline Water Conversion Corporation, where he led distinctive initiatives in sustainability, improvement of the urban landscape and the development of human-centred built environments, alongside leading institutional transformation and urban development programmes. He holds a master's degree in civil structural engineering from City, University of London and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with first-class honours.
