Engineer Sultan Al-Subaie is an executive leader with more than 14 years of professional experience in operations and maintenance, facility management and strategic asset management across the public and private sectors. He serves as Director General of Operations and Maintenance at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, where he leads large-scale national initiatives aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, embedding governance and compliance, and driving innovation to achieve the highest standards of quality and sustainability and to maximise asset value across the lifecycle. His leadership experience spans multi-site operating environments, with a focus on developing modern operating models, improving the performance of contractors and service providers, management based on key performance indicators, risk-based planning and the application of continuous improvement methodologies. He holds a master's degree in engineering business management from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Sydney in Australia, together with a number of international professional certifications, most notably Project Management Professional, Facility Management Professional, Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional, and PMI Risk Management Professional, along with specialised certificates in strategy, governance and performance management. Over his career he has led a number of distinctive initiatives, most notably the modernisation of operating models, the restructuring of strategic asset management, the deployment of smart monitoring solutions and the strengthening of operational governance at scale.
