Sulaiman S. Alsaif is an assistant professor of virtual healthcare in sleep and respiratory medicine at King Saud University, in the Rehabilitation Health Sciences Department of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, where he also leads the commercialisation of university innovations. He holds a PhD in clinical medicine research from Imperial College London, awarded in 2024, where he investigated technology-enabled virtual healthcare pathways for sleep disorders and published his findings internationally; his research affiliation includes the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London. His published work addresses the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnoea outside the traditional laboratory setting, including mandibular movement monitoring coupled with automated machine-learning analysis as a route to widening access to diagnosis, as well as population-level research on public knowledge and awareness of obstructive sleep apnoea in Saudi Arabia. He has presented internationally on artificial intelligence in sleep medicine, digital sleep platforms and automated sleep scoring, and his collaboration with Seha Virtual Hospital explores how AI-assisted, technology-enabled pathways can expand access to sleep services across Saudi Arabia. Through his academic and innovation leadership roles he works to translate emerging technologies into scalable, patient-centred models that improve access, clinical decision-making and care delivery.
