Shahad Mahdi

Secretary General

Shahad Mahdi is secretary general of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association of the Gulf, known as PHRMAG, and a healthcare leader whose multidisciplinary experience spans pharmaceuticals, medical devices and healthcare development. Her career has focused on advancing healthcare innovation, strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors and working at the intersection of policy, access and industry across the Gulf. She has worked closely with health authorities and industry leaders in the region, a perspective complemented by her North American training through an MBA at American University in Washington, where she specialised in business analytics and studied public-private partnerships in the biomedical sector. She is particularly interested in fostering biomedical innovation and in strengthening collaboration between governments, industry, academia and innovators to accelerate scientific progress.
