Steve Qing Yang

Co-CEO

Steve Qing Yang is Co-CEO and a board member of WuXi AppTec, where he also heads the WuXi Biology and WuXi Testing businesses and oversees multiple business and operating units worldwide. He began his undergraduate studies at Fudan University in China and completed a BS in biological sciences summa cum laude at Michigan Technological University in 1991, then earned a PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of California, San Francisco. Before joining WuXi AppTec he was Vice President and Head of Asia and Emerging Markets iMed at AstraZeneca in Shanghai, and earlier Vice President and Head of Asia R&D at Pfizer, also in Shanghai, having previously led Pfizer's global R&D strategic management group in the United States as Executive Director. He is a co-founder of BayHelix Group, a non-profit organisation of Chinese life-science business leaders, and served two terms as chairman of its board.
