Khaled Manae Al-Kattan is a Saudi consultant thoracic surgeon and academic leader. He serves as Dean of the College of Medicine at Alfaisal University in Riyadh and as the university's Vice President for Administration and Finance, and has been Senior Consultant and Head of Thoracic Surgery and Lung Transplantation at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre since 2008. He earned his MBBS from King Saud University in 1984, obtained his FRCS from Edinburgh, trained in thoracic surgery at the Brompton Hospital in London, and completed lung transplant training at Harefield Hospital through 1995. At King Saud University he advanced from assistant professor to professor and head of the thoracic surgery division. He chairs the National Lung Cancer Study Group and the national lung transplant programme, and is a founder and board member of several bodies including the Saudi Thoracic Society, the Medical Education Society and the Saudi Alzheimer's Disease Association. He has authored more than 100 published papers and contributed to reference works including the ESTS Textbook of Thoracic Surgery. He received the Saudi Thoracic Society's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014.
