Michael Schelper

Operating Partner

Michael Schelper is an operating partner at Deerfield Management with over twenty years of experience in healthcare and life sciences on both the operating and investment sides. He is a growth and innovation focused executive who has led international health technology businesses, with an emphasis on scaling healthcare platforms across Europe, the Middle East and emerging markets. Before joining Deerfield he was head of the healthcare and life sciences cluster at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, managing partner at Anvano, a healthcare and life sciences venture capital and advisory firm, and chief growth officer of a private family office. Earlier in his career he spent more than ten years at Oracle Health, formerly Cerner, in a series of leadership roles including chief operating officer for the Middle East and Africa, general manager for strategic growth markets, and director and regional executive for mergers, acquisitions and consulting across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a bachelor of science in business information systems from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences.
