Kevin Tabb

Chief Executive Officer

Kevin Tabb is a physician and the president and chief executive of Beth Israel Lahey Health, the Boston health system created in 2019 by the merger of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Lahey Health. Raised in Berkeley, California, he moved to Israel at eighteen, took his undergraduate degree at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his medical degree at the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School, and served in the Israel Defense Forces. He later led the clinical data services division of GE Healthcare IT, then became chief quality and medical information officer and afterwards chief medical officer at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, with responsibility for physician network strategy, clinical quality and patient safety, and medical education. He moved to Boston in 2011 to lead Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, drove the merger and has headed the combined organisation since. Beth Israel Lahey Health today comprises 14 hospitals and about 42,000 staff, including more than 4,800 physicians, and cares for roughly 1.7 million patients a year. In March 2026 he announced that he would step down after more than 15 years.
