Jameela Alsalman

Chairperson of Medical Departments | Director of Quality Management and Infection Control

Jameela Alsalman is a Bahraini consultant in internal medicine and infectious diseases and an associate professor at the Arabian Gulf University, where she also took her medical degree. She trained in the United States, completing an infectious diseases fellowship at Yale University with additional training in HIV and hepatitis C, a geriatrics fellowship at Temple University and an internal medicine residency, and she holds American board certification in internal medicine, geriatrics and infectious diseases alongside certification in infection control and in medical quality. She previously served as an infectious disease and geriatrics consultant at Salmaniya Medical Complex. She was a leading member of Bahrain's national medical team during the COVID-19 response, and was appointed to the Shura Council, the kingdom's upper house, by royal decree in 2022.
