Intisar Suleiman Al-Kayal is an academic, researcher, and technology consultant specialising in information technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. She serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology at the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, King Abdulaziz University, with extensive academic, research, and training experience across cloud computing, the Internet of Things, fog computing, resource-allocation optimisation, machine learning, information security, and generative artificial intelligence applications in education, research, and institutional environments. She earned her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southampton, and her research focuses on developing intelligent and efficient solutions for distributed systems and cloud and fog computing environments, as well as leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance education quality, support decision-making, analyse data, and develop innovative models and applications serving academic and societal sectors. Her recent interests include AI governance, AI ethics, responsible adoption, and the impact of AI on the future of education, skills, and the labour market. She has contributed to numerous academic and professional development initiatives, delivering specialised workshops and training programmes in artificial intelligence, prompt engineering, AI tools for education and research, cloud computing, data analytics, automation, and AI-assisted website and application development. Alongside her academic role, she holds several leadership and advisory positions, including Part-Time Consultant at the Center for University Education Development at King Abdulaziz University and Vice President of the Artificial Intelligence Governance Association, and has served on university committees including the Department Projects Committee and the Standardized Testing Committee between 2022 and 2025.
