Immanuel Azaad Moonesar

Full Professor- Health Policy and System Research

Immanuel Azaad Moonesar is a full professor of health policy and systems research at the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government in Dubai. Born in Trinidad and Tobago, he holds a BSc in human ecology, nutrition and dietetics and a postgraduate diploma in institutional community nutrition and dietetics from the University of the West Indies, a Master of Quality Management from the University of Wollongong in Australia, and a PhD in health services leadership from Walden University, where his dissertation examined the role of UAE health professionals in maternal and child health policy. He is a registered dietitian, and his career before academia covered quality assurance, nutrition and dietetics, health and safety, teaching and institutional research. He reports more than 255 academic works and 4.85 million dollars in research funding. He is scientific policy advisor to the International Vaccine Institute and president of the MENA chapter of the Academy of International Business, co-authored a policy paper on behavioural nudges against childhood obesity in Arab communities, and writes regularly for International Health Policies.
