Since taking on the role of Group CEO at AJi Group in 2020, Hamzeh Awwad has led a major transformation that placed the group at the forefront of architectural and engineering innovation across the Middle East and North Africa. With more than 25 years of experience, he has played a pivotal role in expanding the group's regional presence and consolidating its standing in architecture, engineering and consultancy. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA, alongside PMP certification from the Project Management Institute in the United States, combining deep technical knowledge with strategic leadership. Over his career he has overseen a wide range of landmark projects across industry, the public sector, commercial developments, hospitality, healthcare and infrastructure. He is regarded as a leading thinker in the engineering sector and contributes actively to national engineering councils in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Jordan. His leadership has drawn international recognition, most notably the CEO of the Year 2024 award at the Middle East Consultant Awards for his role in driving innovation and growth, and he has received a royal honour from His Majesty King Abdullah II in recognition of his contribution to national progress and to the advancement of the engineering profession. Alongside his executive responsibilities, he serves on the boards of several institutions, including Applied Science University, Almoaseroon Housing Projects Company and Al Awla Finance Company, and on the advisory board of the School of Graduate Studies at the University of Jordan.
