Gaby Moawad

Gaby Moawad is a board-certified gynaecologic surgeon who founded The Center for Endometriosis and Advanced Pelvic Surgery, with practices in metropolitan Washington DC and in Miami, Florida. He is an associate professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at George Washington University, where he directs robotic gynaecologic surgery and co-directs the minimally invasive gynaecologic surgery fellowship. His clinical work centres on laparoscopic and robotic excision of endometriosis and on uterine fibroids, and he has published on robotic approaches to diaphragmatic endometriosis. In 2019 he was co-principal investigator on a National Institutes of Health grant for biomarker research in uterine fibroids. Within the AAGL, the international society for minimally invasive gynaecologic surgery, he has chaired the research and robotics committees and holds its Award for Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures. He sits on the editorial board of Facts, Views and Vision in ObGyn, the journal of the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, and was named a top doctor in the Washington area by Washingtonian magazine each year from 2015 to 2019.
