Abdelrahman Darwesh is a fire protection engineer with an academic and professional background in electrical engineering. He leads the operations of Jensen Hughes alongside his role as Western Region Office Director. He brings close to 12 years of specialised professional experience in the Saudi market alone, over which he has established himself as a trusted expert in compliance with the Saudi Building Code and local safety regulations and requirements, specialising in engineering safety and fire protection solutions for major Public Investment Fund giga projects and other large and complex developments in the Kingdom. He has broad experience managing the full project lifecycle, leading demanding projects from inception, early planning and strategic consultancy through to rigorous testing, commissioning and handover, and on into live operation. His experience spans a range of critical sectors across the Middle East, among them telecommunications, mixed-use commercial developments, healthcare, hospitality, residential projects, retail, and heavy industrial and manufacturing facilities. Abdelrahman holds advanced technical expertise in applying international fire and life safety standards, supported by a series of specialised training programmes with the National Fire Protection Association covering NFPA 101, NFPA 72, NFPA 13, NFPA 20 and NFPA 25. He is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist accredited by the NFPA and a practising member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. Combining operational leadership experience with technical excellence in fire protection engineering, he brings grounded practical expertise and specialised insight to the planning and delivery of world-class life safety infrastructure across the region.
