Eastern Mediterranean Epilepsy Congress and Saudi Epilepsy Society Congress 2027
About the event
New dates: the organiser has moved the Eastern Mediterranean Epilepsy Congress and the Saudi Epilepsy Society Congress to 1 to 3 April 2027 at Sofitel Al Khobar The Corniche in Al Khobar, after it was originally set for 29 to 31 October 2026, under the patronage of the International League Against Epilepsy and in collaboration with the Saudi Epilepsy Society. The meeting brings together the regional congress for the Eastern Mediterranean countries and the national congress of the Saudi Epilepsy Society, and over three days offers a scientific programme of lectures, workshops and interactive discussions on epilepsy and neuroscience across clinical, research and academic disciplines.
The programme covers epilepsy diagnosis and clinical management, seizure semiology, EEG and epileptic network analysis, epilepsy surgery and neuroimaging, paediatric epilepsy and genetics, neuroimmunology, emerging therapies and neurotechnology, artificial intelligence and digital tools, precision medicine, epilepsy in women and pregnancy, sleep and seizure control, and global initiatives and capacity building in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. It is intended for neurologists, epileptologists, neurosurgeons, neurophysiologists, neuroradiologists, geneticists, pharmacists, nurses and allied health professionals, residents and fellows, researchers and health policymakers, with an accompanying exhibition of new therapies and solutions.
Registration is paid and handled through the congress website. Fees start at 50 US dollars for students, fellows, nurses and allied health professionals, and at 150 US dollars for physicians after the early bird period ended on 1 October 2026, with a category for ILAE chapter members and a package that includes the workshops. Workshops were scheduled to be held virtually on 28 October 2026 and abstracts in English were accepted until 20 October 2026, with updated dates to be announced by the organiser on the congress website, and attendance earns continuing medical education hours from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
