H.E. Yasir Al-Rumayyan

Governor of the Public Investment Fund; Chairman of Saudi Aramco; Chairman of FII Institute

Yasir Othman Al-Rumayyan was born in 1970 and graduated from King Faisal University in Al-Ahsa with a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1993, later completing the General Management Program at Harvard Business School. He began his career at Saudi Hollandi Bank, served as chief executive of the investment firm Swicorp and worked at the Capital Market Authority. He was appointed governor of the Public Investment Fund in 2015 and led its transformation from a domestic holding portfolio into one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world, overseeing investments in SoftBank, Uber and Lucid as well as NEOM and the flagship projects of Vision 2030. He became chairman of Saudi Aramco in 2019 on the eve of its initial public offering, has chaired Newcastle United since 2021, and chairs the board of FII Institute.
