Shuming Liu

Professor and Dean of the School of Environment

Shuming Liu is professor and dean of the School of Environment at Tsinghua University, director of the Tsinghua Research Institute for Environmental Innovation in Suzhou, and a fellow of the International Water Association. He is editor in chief of the association's journal AQUA, on water infrastructure, ecosystems and society, and convenor of ISO technical committee 282 subcommittee 2 on water reuse for urban areas. He has more than twenty years of cross-disciplinary experience in engineering, technology and management, and his research covers water resources management, leakage control, early-warning monitoring and smart water systems. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers and four books and holds more than 30 patents.
