Muryah Al-Shahrani

General Manager of Space Systems and Infrastructure

Eng. Muryah Al-Shahrani is General Manager of Space Systems and Infrastructure at the Saudi Space Agency. On 10 June 2026 he was elected First Vice-Chair of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) during its session in Vienna, a leadership position in the committee's bureau whose responsibilities include supporting the committee's work, building consensus among member states and guiding discussions on space governance and international cooperation. Press reports credit him with strengthening the Kingdom's presence in space governance and sustainability files, building national capacity in space situational awareness, and developing space sustainability initiatives. In 2024 he was described by the agency as General Manager of Ground Systems.
