Mohammed A. Aljadaan
Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Financial Sector Development Program Committee
Mohammed A. Aljadaan has served as Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia since a royal order appointed him in October 2016, and chairs the committee of the Financial Sector Development Program, one of the delivery programmes of Saudi Vision 2030. Born in 1962, he holds a bachelor's degree in Islamic economics from the College of Sharia at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, awarded in 1986, and a diploma in legal systems studies from the Institute of Public Administration in Riyadh, awarded in 1998. He began his career at the armed forces hospital in 1984 and remained there until 1994, then co-founded Aljadaan & Partners, Advocates and Legal Advisers, in association with the international law firm Clifford Chance, where he was a partner from 1995 to 2015. He was appointed chairman of the Capital Market Authority in January 2015 before moving to the Ministry of Finance, served as acting Minister of Economy and Planning between March 2020 and May 2021, and chairs the International Monetary and Financial Committee of the International Monetary Fund.
