Manager of the Research and Innovation Centre at the National Real Estate Registration Services Company (RER), the entity exclusively mandated to carry out title registration of real property in the Kingdom. The centre develops the tools and methodologies underpinning the shift of Saudi property ownership from paper title deeds to a digital title register that gives every property a permanent identity which does not change when its owner does. That work covers exacting technical questions in defining property boundaries, matching them against conditions on the ground, and resolving overlaps in historic ownership. Title registration is the foundation on which the rest of property technology stands, since no financing platform, asset tokenisation or fractional ownership can rise on an ownership record that cannot be relied on.
