Mohammed ElKuwaiz

A Saudi economist who chaired the board of the Capital Market Authority from July 2017 until August 2026, having first been appointed vice chairman before his promotion and a four-year extension by royal order. He holds a bachelor's degree in administrative sciences with honours from King Saud University (1998) and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business (2003). He is a co-founder of Derayah Financial and brings more than 15 years of experience across financial services, strategic planning, investment and corporate governance. He worked in investment and corporate banking at Samba Financial Group, before that in the treasury of Arab National Bank, and as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. He has served on the investment committee of the King Faisal Foundation and on the securities and investment committee of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce.
