Majed Al-Hogail
Minister of Municipalities and Housing
Minister of Municipalities and Housing of Saudi Arabia since January 2021 and Chairman of the Board of the Real Estate General Authority. He took over the housing portfolio in July 2015, before the two ministries were merged into one. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from King Saud University, an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and an American accounting fellowship, and completed the Programme for Executive Development at IMD in Lausanne. He began his career at the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, serving as deputy financial director between 1990 and 1998, then moved to the private sector as managing director and chief executive of Rafal Real Estate Development. Under his remit the Kingdom's major housing programmes and its real estate regulatory framework were launched, aimed at raising Saudi home ownership under Vision 2030.
