Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Majid
Deputy Governor
Dr Fahad bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Majid is deputy governor of the General Authority for Awqaf in Saudi Arabia for regulatory affairs, overseeing the legislative and supervisory side of the endowment sector, the regulation of trustees, and the governance and performance of endowments. He takes part in specialised sector forums and panels, among them a session on investment in the endowment sector at the Financial Markets Forum, which covered the sector’s legislative dimensions, the role of strategic partnerships and financial investment, and a workshop on the contribution of trustees to endowment sustainability in the light of legislative developments. He holds that the trustee is the cornerstone of the endowment process, and that qualifying trustees and governing their work is a condition of an endowment’s sustainability and developmental impact. During his tenure the authority launched training programmes for endowment-sector leaders, including the applied diploma in awqaf whose first cohort graduated across four regions of the kingdom.
