Essam Bukhary

Chief executive of Manga Productions, a subsidiary of the Misk Foundation. He is co-chairman of the executive committee for the Mohammed bin Salman Center for Future Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo, editor-in-chief of Manga Arabia and former chief adviser to the chairman at SNK. He served as Saudi cultural attaché to Japan for seven years and was the first foreign diplomat to win the Japanese foreign minister's prize twice. He holds a doctorate in international studies in the field of technology and innovation management and master's and bachelor's degrees in industrial and systems management engineering from Waseda University in Japan. In 2024 the World Intellectual Property Organization selected him as one of the international experts judging its global award competition.
