David Michaud
Practice Manager, Water
David Michaud is the World Bank's practice manager for water in the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan region, where he oversees the Bank's water programme and staff. He previously held the equivalent role for the Europe and Central Asia region and for Latin America and the Caribbean. He has worked extensively in water, moving the focus of his work from infrastructure and project development towards service delivery and sector reform, and more recently towards water security for all under the Water Forward initiative. With his team he has led water policy dialogue and analytical work for national governments and regional bodies. Before the World Bank he worked as a water engineer and project manager in the private and non-profit sectors in Africa and the Middle East, and he holds master's degrees from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
