Regional Manager, Public Policy and Government Affairs

Chafic Chaya is Regional Manager, Public Policy and Government Affairs, at the RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) for the Middle East, based in the United Arab Emirates. He joined the RIPE NCC in 2014 as Regional Communications Manager for the Middle East and has more than 24 years of experience in the Internet and telecom industry. He manages public policy and government affairs and acts as the main liaison to external stakeholders in the region, supporting capacity development and digital infrastructure, and he leads the RIPE NCC's academic initiatives and Certified Professionals programme in the region. He holds a doctorate in business administration from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, an MBA from Lebanon, and a telecommunications engineering degree from France.
