Bashayer Almubarak

Neuroscience and Human Genetics

Dr. Bashayer Almubarak is a scientist and research executive with over 20 years of experience spanning neuroscience, human genetics, research strategy, and governance. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh, an Executive Master's in Health Policy from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a BSc in Biochemistry from King Saud University. Following her PhD, she joined the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG) at the University of Oxford as a postdoctoral research fellow before returning to King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC), where she progressed to Senior Clinical Scientist and served in various scientific and institutional capacities. Her career has encompassed research design and execution, scientific oversight and governance. As Director of Scientific Research at Hevolution Foundation, she leads the strategic establishment of intramural research focused on aging biology, including the development of its scientific direction, governance, and research priorities. Her work brings together scientific rigor, strategic leadership, and health policy to advance high-quality research and its impact.
