Dr Khalid S.A. Khabar is a Principal Investigator at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Riyadh and Director of its Molecular BioMedicine Programme, having also served as Deputy Executive Director of the Research Centre and, as of May 2023, chairman of a department there. His BioMolecular Research Programme focuses on a medically important family of genes coding for AU-rich messenger RNAs, which govern proteins critical to maintaining healthy transient responses such as immune reaction and cellular growth. He has published one hundred and thirty-eight scientific papers that have been cited more than five thousand four hundred times.
