Asma Alfayez

Asma Abdullah Alfayez is Deputy Chairman of the Division of Artificial Intelligence at King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, specializing in AI and big data science. She obtained her PhD from University College London with a thesis that introduced a new approach to applying AI in developing predictive models in healthcare, and she holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in health informatics. With more than 15 years of experience, including professional work with international companies, she leads AI divisions, projects and large-scale initiatives, and her research on AI algorithms for big-data analysis in healthcare, including explainable AI for pancreatic cancer prediction, has been published in peer-reviewed journals.
