Ismaeel Almakrami is Executive Vice President for Digital Health at Health Holding Company, where he leads the eHealth portfolio of the Najran Health Cluster. The cluster delivers care to more than 495,000 beneficiaries through 69 primary care centres and 12 general and specialised hospitals, and its digital agenda covers the electronic health record, connectivity between facilities and the data foundations for regional health services. He holds a doctorate and is a certified Project Management Professional. Before moving into the cluster model he worked as a health informatics consultant at the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia, and his work has centred on the adoption of health information systems, interoperability between platforms, data security, and the organisational change management that digital health programmes demand. He has taken part in regional healthcare technology forums, including the Healthcare Disrupters Congress, where he has addressed the practical obstacles to health informatics adoption across the Gulf and the conditions under which digital tools measurably improve everyday clinical operations.
