Tamara Sunbul

Group Chief Information Officer

Tamara Sunbul is a physician and digital health leader who leads enterprise-wide digital transformation at Fakeeh Care Group, covering smart hospital innovation, artificial intelligence adoption and data-driven care. She holds a bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from King Faisal University and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, along with specialist certificates from Harvard University, and she is a Fellow of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (FHIMSS) as well as holding the CPHIMS and PMP certifications. Her career began in 1994 at the Saudi Aramco Medical Organization, where she worked on continuity of care and healthcare information technology, and she went on to serve as Medical Director of Clinical Informatics at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare in Dhahran until the end of 2024, where in 2018 she led the clinical side of the enterprise-wide Epic electronic health record rollout. She was recognised as a HIMSS Senior Member in 2015, awarded Fellow status in 2020, selected for the HIMSS Future50 class of 2021, and received the 2025 HIMSS Changemaker in Health Award in the CXO senior executive category. She speaks regularly at international healthcare technology gatherings on artificial intelligence in healthcare, digital transformation, data governance and IT strategy.
