Alex Cotterill

Partner

Alex Cotterill joined Groupwork, the London architecture practice, in 2012 and has since led research into structural materials, including full-scale mock-ups built from laminated waste stone salvaged as a quarry by-product, several of which have been exhibited internationally. He co-curated The New Stone Age exhibition and its public programme alongside Groupwork's Amin Taha, stonemason Pierre Bidaud, and structural engineer Steve Webb of Webb Yates. He worked on 15 Clerkenwell Close, a building notable for its structural stone construction and sustainability recognition, and is Head of Third Year at the University for the Creative Arts, having trained in Bristol, Brighton, and London.
