Randa A. Mahmoud is Dean of the College of Architecture and Design at Prince Sultan University in Riyadh, a role she combines with a professorship in environmental planning at the same university. An architect and urbanist, she completed her doctoral studies through Ain Shams University in Cairo and has built a research profile centred on urban resilience, heritage conservation, and placemaking that has drawn more than one hundred and ninety citations in academic literature. She has served on award juries including the Cairo Design Award, and her academic programme at Prince Sultan University has run joint studios with international partners such as Design Space AlUla, pairing Saudi and French architecture students on heritage and urban design projects. Beyond her academic and administrative work, she is also known for practising as a contemporary artist and painter alongside her architectural career.
