Ahmed Alghofaili

Deputy CEO

Ahmed Alghofaili is Deputy CEO of the Saudi Space Agency. He is an electrical engineer specialising in electronics, photonics and optics, with experience in portfolio management, new-entity establishment and strategy in the space and defence sectors. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering from Florida International University and a master's degree in optical nanotechnology engineering from the University of Kassel, Germany. He previously served as General Supervisor of the Kingdom's first human spaceflight mission, leading astronaut selection, training and the planning of scientific experiments. He also worked at the General Authority for Military Industries as Director of Research Capabilities and Planning. At the Saudi Space Agency his responsibilities include defining key performance indicators, developing hiring plans and overseeing the execution of strategic projects in space exploration and applications.
