Ahmad Alanazi

Vice President, National Greening Program

Ahmad Alanazi is an engineer and seasoned leader with an MBA and a focus on delivering large-scale, complex initiatives. He leads the National Greening Program (NGP) under the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) and the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI). In 2026 the United Nations named the National Greening Program a World Restoration Flagship, recognising Saudi Arabia's leadership in ecosystem restoration; more than one million hectares of land have been verified as rehabilitated, with more than 200 partners across the Kingdom contributing through the programme. His career includes strategic advisory roles at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) and 13 years at Saudi Post, where he served as Chief Strategy Officer, delivering transformative change and innovative strategy. At Saudi Post he led the development and execution of national strategies, helped build a culture of accountability, and introduced new performance systems and continuous improvement programmes.
