Steve Yang is Co-Chief Executive Officer of WuXi AppTec, the Chinese contract research, development and manufacturing group that serves pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide, where his responsibilities cover several business and operating units across the globe. He holds a doctorate in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of California, San Francisco, and is known in the industry for building research and development service capability, delivering early-development portfolios of drug candidates and forming research partnerships across the United States, Europe, China and other emerging markets. Before joining WuXi AppTec he was vice president and head of Asia and emerging markets innovative medicines at AstraZeneca in Shanghai, and earlier vice president and head of Asia research and development at Pfizer, as well as executive director of the company's global research and development strategic management group in the United States.
