With over 25 years of interior design and architecture expertise, Shazad Azam has established himself as an international design leader. His remarkable portfolio and unique creative vision gained him recognition, as he worked on projects ranging from hotels, residential, workplace, retail, and master-planning in different countries. His localised GCC knowledge and deep understanding of hotel brand standards make him a foremost expert in value engineering without compromising design quality. Recognised as ‘Interior Designer of the Year’ by Design Middle East KSA Awards and selected as one of the most influential designers in Saudi Arabia by Commercial Interior Design, Shazad is also a keynote speaker at industry events, showing his commitment to nurturing emerging design talents. Shazad launched International Design Associates (IDA) in Bahrain. After a decade, IDA has grown into a global hospitality company driven by a vibrant and diverse team across Bahrain, Pakistan, and Thailand. As Shazad is passionate about design, he provides creative direction to all IDA Global studios. His exceptional designs and visionary approach have won the company several prestigious and international awards for projects such as Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain, Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Resort & Spa, Vida Beach Resort Marassi Al Bahrain, and Hawar Resort by Mantis Collection in Bahrain. Shazad's expertise extends to several upcoming projects, notably the Durrakah Island in Red Sea, Hyatt Place and Moxy Hotel in Diriyah Gate 2, Riyadh, Fraser Suites, Tivoli, and Avani hotels in Bahrain, Kempinski Marina Residences in Dubai, the Agora Autograph Collection Hotel in Doha, the Deltin Resort & Casino in India, the Crowne Plaza in Kenya, and the Imarat Residences and Bavylon in Pakistan.
