Sausan Alfaris

Scientific Liaison, Gene Therapy Localization

Sausan Alfaris is a Saudi researcher affiliated with the Saudi Biobank at King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs in Riyadh, and serves as Scientific Liaison for Gene Therapy Localization at the centre. Her research work concerns the building of biobanks and their role in delivering Saudi Arabia's national biotechnology strategy. She is a co-author of a 2026 paper in the Journal of Epidemiology and Global Health setting out the study design and aspirations of the Saudi Biobank project and its place in precision-medicine research in the Kingdom, and of a 2025 paper in the Eastern Mediterranean Health Journal on the role of biobanks in advancing the national biotechnology strategy.
