Chief Technology Officer and Head of Procella Therapeutics

Ricardo Baptista is Chief Technology Officer of SmartCella Holding and Head of its Procella Therapeutics division, based at the group's Stockholm head office and a member of its executive management team. He holds a PhD in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from Instituto Superior Tecnico and brings almost twenty years of global experience in medical biotechnology, with deep expertise in cell-therapy bioprocessing and analytical platforms for the scalable, GMP-compliant manufacture of allogeneic cell therapies. His engineering and process background has underpinned scalable cell-therapy manufacturing approaches at companies including Procella Tx, Cellectis, the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, CCRM and Alder Therapeutics, and his work spans CMC, quality assurance and regulatory affairs across the sector.
