Maya Jarkas

Country Medical Head

Maya Jarkas is Country Medical Head for the East Gulf and Levant region at Takeda, having previously served as the company's Therapy Area Medical Lead for gastrointestinal disease and immunology in the Middle East. Earlier in her career she held medical roles across the region's pharmaceutical industry, including Medical Sciences Manager for Haematology and Oncology in the Levant cluster at Amgen, and Medical Science Liaison and Product Specialist for Immunology at AbbVie in the Levant and Qatar. She holds a Master of Science in Innovation Leadership and Management from the University of York, and has co-authored published work on empowering women in STEM careers and the particular challenges women face in the MENA pharmaceutical sector.
