Mansoor Ali Baig is a digital transformation and artificial intelligence strategist and specialist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, with close to three decades across digital transformation, machine learning and enterprise IT. He led the hospital's scientific computing team and oversaw a research infrastructure spanning 48 research centres and the Center for Genomics, and drove the digital transformation of its research operations. He worked with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority on the design and development of the comprehensive implantable medical device registry, and has advised bodies including the United Nations Development Programme and the Saudi Health Council. His research contributions include a paper on the urgent need for a governance framework for artificial intelligence in healthcare. His approach holds that technology should elevate people and take repetitive work off them while high-risk decisions stay under human oversight.
