Genomics Lead

Majd Abdulghani is Genomics Lead at Lean Business Services, a Public Investment Fund portfolio company, where she works on integrating genomic data into digital, preventive healthcare in Saudi Arabia. She is the first Saudi to be awarded a Rhodes Scholarship, which she used to complete a PhD in Cancer Genomics at the University of Oxford, and now serves as Deputy National Secretary of the Rhodes Trust in Saudi Arabia, helping select the Kingdom's Rhodes Scholars. Earlier in her career she worked as a research technician at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, studying the molecular mechanisms of alternative splicing and RNA abasic-site formation. Outside the lab, she has built a following for Arabic-language science communication, co-hosting the podcast Sodium Show and producing short-form science videos that have drawn more than 7.5 million views.
