Dr Karolina Kobus is a cell and molecular biologist whose career has spanned the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics and Charite University Hospital in Germany and the National Genetic Centre at Oman's Ministry of Health, with work in big-data analytics and bioinformatics using advanced sequencing technologies. She has led the formulation and execution of biotechnology strategies and operational business plans emphasising the importance of building local scientific capability to reduce outsourcing and create more cost-efficient healthcare systems in the region, and has been associated with Prepaire Labs, a Dubai-based platform for drug discovery and disease modelling through personalised genetic insight.
