Joseph Caspar Scheeren

Founder

A Dutch pharmacist specialising in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs, and founder and president of Scheeren HealthCare LLC, an Arizona-based consultancy. He studied pharmacy at the University of Leiden, where he earned his BS, MSc and PharmD. He began his industry career in 1992 at Servier in Paris in 1982, went on to head worldwide regulatory affairs at Serono in Geneva in 1991 and at Roussel UCLAF in 1992, and moved to New Jersey in 1996. He joined Bayer in 2004 as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Regulatory Affairs, led Global Development Asia from Beijing in 2012, then global regulatory affairs for pharma and consumer health from Basel in 2015, working on Xarelto and Eylea. He later served as President and CEO of the Critical Path Institute. He is a non-executive director of Barinthus Biotherapeutics, chairs the supervisory board of C4C S in the Netherlands, is an adjunct professor of regulatory science at Peking University, and a foreign member of France's Académie Nationale de Pharmacie.
