Director - Waterways

Captain John Taylor is Director of Waterways at Red Sea Global, the developer behind the Red Sea Project and AMAALA on the Kingdom’s west coast. Managing waterways in a marine tourism destination is a different task from managing them in a commercial port: it means organising the movement of yachts, boats and ferries among islands and living coral reefs so that the traffic does not spoil what the visitor came for. That covers setting channels and depths, mooring points, navigation safety standards and rules for approaching reefs. He holds a BSc in Nautical Studies, is an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute, and serves on several industry boards.
