Jabor Ali Al-Sulaiti is Investment and Strategies Manager at MWANI Qatar, the Qatar Ports Management Company, the body that runs Qatar’s commercial ports, foremost among them Hamad Port. Hamad Port is among the Gulf’s newest, opened a few years before the 2017 blockade of Qatar turned it from an expansion project into an import artery replacing land crossings, a rare regional case of a port whose viability was tested under emergency rather than ordinary conditions.
