Ibrahim Al Baalharith

Ibrahim Mubarak H. Al Baalharith is Chief of Quality, Governance and Excellence at SEHA Virtual Hospital, the Ministry of Health institution that operates as the largest virtual hospital of its kind in the world and serves as a reference model for virtual care delivery in the region. A healthcare leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning clinical practice, education, leadership, quality and research, he has been closely involved in the establishment and growth of the hospital as part of the health sector transformation under Saudi Vision 2030. He leads the hospital's quality, governance and institutional excellence agenda, and under his leadership SEHA Virtual Hospital has obtained the diamond category of Canadian international accreditation together with four ISO certifications covering information security (ISO 27001), training services (ISO 10015), quality management (ISO 9001) and risk management (ISO 31000), as well as accreditation by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as a provider of continuing professional development activities. He has overseen innovative projects including the development of training programmes and the securing of programme accreditation from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. He has conducted more than 15 research studies and serves as a reviewer for four journals, and he chairs the Social Engagement and Public Relations Committee at the Saudi Nurses Association. He holds a doctorate from King Saud University on the digitalisation of healthcare in Saudi Arabia and the professional competencies required of virtual care providers.
