Edison Liu

Dr Edison T. Liu is Professor, President Emeritus and Honorary Fellow at The Jackson Laboratory, and an internationally recognised expert in cancer biology, systems genomics, human genetics, molecular epidemiology and translational medicine, with a research focus on breast cancer. His work centres on the functional genomics of human cancers, uncovering new oncogenes and deciphering the dynamics of gene regulation on a genomic scale. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Jackson Laboratory from 2012 to 2021, and from 2001 to 2011 was the founding Executive Director of the Genome Institute of Singapore and President of the Human Genome Organisation (HUGO). He has authored more than 350 scientific papers and reviews and co-authored two books, and serves on the board of directors of the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health.
